Things I’m Leaving Behind in 2024
As the founder of Nolaskinsentials, I spend so much time thinking about how to help you prioritize your skin, your self-care, and your glow. But real talk? Sometimes, I forget to extend that same energy to myself.
This year, I’m doing things differently. 2024 taught me a lot about who I am, what I value, and what no longer serves me—and now it’s time to leave some things behind.
Here’s my “no thank you” list for 2025:
1. Comparing Myself to Others on Social Media
Listen, social media is great for inspiration, but somewhere along the way, it turned into a highlight reel I couldn’t stop comparing myself to. What am I doing? Why don’t I have that? It’s draining.
In 2025, I’m focusing on my own lane. No more scrolling to measure myself against people whose stories I don’t even fully know. My journey is mine, and that’s more than enough.
2. Eating Fast Food Like It’s a Food Group
I said what I said. Last year, fast food was basically my love language. Late nights in the studio or running errands had me relying on drive-thrus more than I’d like to admit.
But the reality? What I eat shows up in my skin and my energy. In 2025, I’m making healthier choices—not for the snapback or a trend, but because I deserve to feel good from the inside out.
3. Not Prioritizing My Sleep
You know what’s not cute? Running on fumes. Whether it was late nights scrolling, catching up on emails, or stressing over deadlines, sleep fell way down on my priority list.
Here’s the truth: You can’t pour from an empty cup, and you definitely can’t glow without rest. This year, I’m reclaiming my 7–8 hours—no exceptions.
4. Being Selfish with Myself
This one’s personal. Sometimes I hold back—whether it’s opening up, offering more of myself to my loved ones, or even putting myself out there in ways that could help someone else. I’m realizing that being “selfish with myself” doesn’t protect me—it limits me.
In 2025, I want to show up more fully for others. To share, to give, and to love in ways that make this world a little brighter.
Final Thoughts
None of this is about being perfect—it’s about being better. I’m stepping into 2025 with the intention to do more of what feeds my soul and less of what holds me back. If you’re making your own “leave it behind” list, I’d love to hear what’s on it. Let’s grow together.
